Do you need to report a crime but not sure who or which number to call? Here are some tips that might be helpful.
Emergency- Dial 911
Use the 911 dispatch line when:
- Someone is seriously injured or you believe they are in danger
- Report any serious crime such as: homicide, suicide, rape, sexual assault, unconscious person(s), etc.
- There is serious risk to life and property
- A crime is ongoing or the offender(s) are fleeing
If you can not decide if 911 is justified. Rule of Thumb- If there is a need for immediate emergency response, then dial 911.
Non-Emergency Calls
Use the Cheatham County Dispatch non-emergency line when:
- A crime or incident has happened in the past
- General questions and inquires
- You need to speak with an officer

Nuisances or Codes
If you need to report neighborhood nuisances such as: dirty lots, overgrown lots, trash build up, or any other codes violation. Please, contact the codes department.
