2022 Christmas Parade Rules, Information

Parade Rules

  1. There is only one Santa Claus allowed in the parade and he has already been chosen.
  2. Maintain equal distance between entries during the parade.
  3. Parade entries may ONLY play Christmas music.
  4. Decorations, caroling, and/or lights are required on all entries including all animal entries, motorized and non-motorized vehicles, and motorcycles.
  5. Drivers of all motorized entries must be licensed and be at least 18 years of age.
  6. Animals in the parade must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  7. Equestrian entries are required to have appropriate waste device and/or designated clean up person/crew.  We encourage clean-up person/crew to dress in costumes and be creative with décor.
  8. This is a family friendly event and as such participants are required to behave with a level of appropriateness for children.
  9. Candy may be thrown out by riders on the float or passed out by people walking next to the float/entry.

 

Parade Information

Parade Route

Start at the corner of South Main Street & Tennessee Waltz Parkway proceed to North Tennessee Waltz Parkway.

Line up begins promptly at 3:00 p.m. and is coordinated by the Town of Ashland City employees and volunteers. Registration Numbers will be given out to all participants who turned in a registration form by the deadline date. Registration numbers will need to be displayed on the driver's side of the participant's entry. Judges will use this registration number to score the entries.

Non-Pedestrian Entries

Completed Entries will line up at Riverbluff Park. The parade will turn right onto Tennessee Waltz Parkway and proceed to South Main and Tennessee Waltz Parkway.  All entries will turn left onto South Main Street and proceed all the way to the intersection of Tennessee Waltz Parkway and North Main Street where the parade will end.  Final touches or additional riders must be made prior to entering line up. Parks & Recreation have requested that animal entries please be kept off the soccer fields.

Pedestrian Entries (marching bands and persons walking the parade route)

Gather in the Ashland City Free Will Baptist Church parking lot. The Ashland City Fire Department will direct the order of participants

Delay/Cancel

The parade is scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm but could be delayed or canceled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

*In the event of cancelation, the Town will notify registered participants ASAP via email.*

Parade Winners

Entries are judged on the following criteria:

  • How well the float represented the theme of the parade.
  • Difficulty of construction.
  • Overall creativity & decoration.

All Parade participants must complete the parade registration form.  Failure to turn in the form by the deadline will result in disqualification from judging of float and being recognized as a parade winner.

Prizes are awarded in the following categories

        1st Place                                 2nd Place                            3rd Place                              Mayor's Choice

Winners will be notified as soon as possible following the tallying of the judges at the number provided on the registration form.  A date will be arranged and scheduled for the award presentation.
